RNIB Demonstration Voice Portal

04/09/2003

PhoneAnything has developed a prototype voice portal for the Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB), demonstrating how PhoneAnything's technology can be used to deliver a range of content and services to RNIB's visually-impaired users.

The demonstration voice portal provides access to e-mail, product catalogues, television listings and audio magazines. A shopping basket facility has been integrated into the portal to allow users to purchase items of interest.

"Providing information over the phone is an ideal way to reach blind and partially-sighted users who lack normal internet access," said Stefan Haselwimmer, Managing Director of PhoneAnything. "We are committed to producing innovative technology solutions for these users and are delighted to be working with the RNIB on this project."

The RNIB is UK's leading charity offering information, support and advice to over two million people with sight problems.

PhoneAnything is a technology company dedicated to providing access to internet content through standard telephones.
