PhoneAnything, the UK's first voice portal, launches today providing instant voice access to a full range of internet services over the phone. UK phone users can now send and receive e-mail, access news, entertainment and sports information, and listen to live internet radio from any phone using one simple phone number [0845 333 0845].
To browse internet content using PhoneAnything, dial 0845 333 0845 and speak the keyword of the information area you wish to go - keywords include 'news', 'business', 'sport' and 'radio'. Select a WAP site from the list of WAP or streaming audio sites that is presented and then use your voice or telephone keypad to navigate through the site. If a site isn't listed, you can enter the internet address of any WAP or audio site using the buttons on your telephone keypad.
Individuals can send and receive e-mail instantly with PhoneAnything, even if they do not have an existing e-mail address or conventional access to the internet. For the majority of UK adults who have never accessed the internet (National Statistics Office, September 2000), PhoneAnything offers the first convenient way to send and receive e-mail and browse internet information using a normal phone.
Mobile phone users will also be able to access e-mail, live radio and WAP internet sites, regardless of their type of phone, and hands-free voice navigation of WAP sites will be possible on most mobile phones.
There are no registration fees or subscription charges to pay to use PhoneAnything and all calls are charged at local rate.
