RNIB Logo

Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB)

PhoneAnything developed a prototype voice portal for the RNIB, to demonstrate how an automated phone service could provide access to a wide range of content for visually-impaired users. The voice portal contained links to audio magazines, a talking books catalogue and television listings and included a shopping basket facility.

PhoneAnything's experience with visually-impaired users helped to define the original specification of the project. PhoneAnything's flexible technology platform enabled a wide range of content, including web, WAP, streaming audio and e-mail to be included in the voice portal.
